operator error

To the fellow with the binding saw. If the saw binds, it's usually the fault of the operator, not the saw. Our crews used these saws for years with no problems.

Disappointed

This tool tries to straddle the limb lopping niche between a small chainsaw & a good set of lopping shears. Unfortunately it doesn't do it.
The cutting blade is too flexible & at times binds in the cut with a branch. Consequently I had to resort to powering up my chainsaw to cut & remove medium sized branched at ground level.

Great Saw

I haven’t tried this saw on large branches yet, but it quickly sawed smaller branches when I used it. The extended handle is also a nice feature which will enable me to reach high branches.

Almost Perfect

The saw itself is amazing. The perfect in between size in ascending order: pocket saw, hand saw, Fanno Extended Reach, and pole saw. Great quality. Only negative is not the saw's outstanding performance, but the fact it does not come with a sheath to cover the blade. Nor a hole in top of handle to hang it up. The size is awkward in my storage shed, and without a good way to store it. Actually emailed Fanno about it, but no response, shame on them. GTC should give them some customer service training!

I have a lot of

I have a lot of trees on my property; large Live Oaks, smaller Mountain Laurels and Crape Myrtle. At my fence line a neighbor has several 20 foot Red-Tipped Photinia. I have used my Fanno saw to prune each of these trees and it did an amazing job. A very, very sharp saw that makes it so much easier to trim even moderately sized branches. The handle length is a great combination of length, weight and balance. It's not too long or too short. I've comfortably used it two-handed and with one hand reaching way above my head standing on an 8 foot a-frame ladder. In conclusion, this Fanno saw has been a great purchase for me. I am more than a little wobbly using a long pole saw and needed something with a little extended reach that I could use while on a ladder. Wow! Garden Tool and Fanno saws must have read my mind. I would sincerely recommend this saw to anyone. It should last a lifetime if you take care of it properly.
