Over the years I have purchased MANY different kinds of dandelion tools that work marginally at best. Until now. This tool really works! For dandelions, thistle or other tap root weeds this works great! For large weeds I can push the tool down on each side of the weed. With its circular shape, you have then just loosened the soil virtually all around the root which can be removed intact. For medium or small dandelions you can push the tool on one side and with the length of the tool just lever the weed out. With its points and sharpness it penetrates hard soil well. I like the cherry handle because it is slightly more bulbous on the end then the ash (which makes it easier on your hand when pushing it in the ground). I really like the length and stoutness of the tool because I can pry out some pretty tough weeds! The is the LAST ONE I will have to buy unless I give this as a gift. WELL worth the expense!!!

i don't know how the dandelions got so big so fast, but the roots were like jumbo carrots! And this tool is fabulous and works them out in about 4 seconds...
