Finally a spade that can cut through the Pennsylvania impacted wet clay and sufficient length for leverage.
Sneeboer tools are best I've had !

Sneeboer Drain spade

It looks really substantial. I haven't used it yet as the ground is frozen. I do have plans now which I believe I can complete now that I have the proper tool. Contact me once spring arrives and I get an opportunity to use the spade.

Beautiful Drain Spade!

Yes, it has beautiful, utilitarian looks, but make no mistake, this is a tough, sturdy, multi-use drain spade. Fantastic at cutting through the mixed rocky & clay-filled Central Texas soil I encounter in my yard. The Sneeboer spade is narrow enough to work around tree roots I want to preserve, and has a stong, sharp stainless steel edge to cut through roots I might want out of the way. It has a nice weight and balance; from handle to tip, the quality built into this tool ensures the parts that make up this tool work as one, for reliable, steady use. Whether I'm planting a hardier shrub or a tree to replace the one that succumbed to drought, or clearing or carving out drainage trenches ahead of the hurricane, this tool has met the task with gusto. Once done, I rinse it clean and wipe it dry, and it gleams like new, ready for the next job.
