  1. If You Can Find A Better Garden Fork Call Me

Posted by Lone Star Gardener on 27th Mar 2012

The search is over. I told my wife be sure and find a good owner for this garden fork after I pass away 30 years hence because I know it will still outshine anything on the market. Anyone who has to work hard-baked red clay soil will especially appreciate this product. The rest of you probably ordered too much fork for your garden. Ironically, the English never did figure out how to produce a car that lasted - outside the Rolls Royce maybe - but the opposite's true of their garden tools. Also, ordering from the Garden Tool Company was a snap; the fork was here in less than 5 days and that was via standard shipping. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience or the product - so much so that it inspired me to write my first product review.

  2. Best Digging Fork on the market at any price.

This tool offers a longer handle, 32", a back saver for a tall gardener like myself. Its quality of manufacture is astonishing. The tool is a tank. Its tines are tremendously strong, the first digging fork I have not been able to bend when I hit a rock.

My heirs will bury me with this.

If you've ever bent a low quality garden fork, buy this one right now. You will appreciate the difference. If you haven't bent a fork, buy this one and you will not.

  3. Buying the Best Saves in the Long Run

This is the sturdiest, well made garden fork I have ever used. It is absolutely superior to any other fork I have used or viewed at local garden centers or big box stores. It has a lifetime feel to it and don't think it will need replacing for many years to come.

  4. Very good quality digging fork

Posted by John on 3rd Aug 2010

An excellent digging fork that I had for around 25 years (and it was many years old when I got it) recently broke. I engaged in a search for a new one that would be of similar feel and quality. I was disappointed with many that I looked at, but found what I was looking for in this fork. It has a good feel to it and seems to be very well made. Thanks for making available such high quality products.

  5. Quality Fork

Quality fork..will last beyond my lifetime...so much better than local hardware store product..well worth the money

  6. The best digging fork

Posted by Rick on 10th Jul 2010

I don't know how I got along without this digging fork. It has made my gardening so much easier. The quality of the product and the ease of ordering on-line made it a simple decision for me to get this digging fork.

  7. Worth every penny - the best fork you can buy

Posted by Kay on 27th Jun 2010

I've bought my share of so-called gardening forks, from the cheap hardware store variety to the seemingly-sturdy knockoffs that look like the high quality versions. None of them can hold a candle to the Clarington Forge Digging Fork; they're all broken to pieces and cluttering up the corner of my tool shed.

For real digging jobs, you need this rock-solid tool. I ordered my 32-inch digging fork from Anne and Blake after an Internet search pulled up their fine little company, and they shipped it out to me super-quick, just in time for double-digging my 26-foot long garden bed. (I'd broken my "knock-off" fork the week prior, tearing up an old asparagus bed).

This the heaviest-duty fork I've ever owned. I gave it a real workout forking the bottom of the 18" bed - native rock-hard DG, I had to jump on that fork and rock it back and forth at the same time to get the tines in full-depth - you can't do that with a twenty-dollar fork. I expect this fine tool will last me many years through all kinds of punishing work.

I could have bought this same fork from Smith and Hawken, but I placed my order with The Garden Tool Company because they're the kind of business I want to support with my money - small, owner-owned, providing excellent service with a personal touch. Blake sent me an email when my fork shipped, and the ensuing conversation was delightful - I feel like I live right down the road and have a friend in the garden tool business. That's how local commerce used to work, and can work again, thanks to folks like Anne and Blake.

  8. High quality product feels great and will last a lifetime!

Posted by Chelsea H on 12th May 2010

I purchased this fork from the Garden Tool Company a few weeks ago after spending a week searching the web for what I was looking for and it has worked great!

I worked at the organic garden in my high school in Palo Alto, CA where we were using the Biointensive method and had gardening forks that were very similar to this one. After deciding to start my own garden this spring, I called almost a dozen hardware and garden supply stores in the Denver metro area and was shocked that none of them carried Clarington Forge or similar high-quality garden tools. So I turned to the web, and spent more than a few hours trying to find tools of the quality that we had at my high school.

After reviewing all the options, I decided on this tool and was just about to purchase it from the Garden Tool Company when, on a whim, I clicked on their their "About Us" webpage. I was amazed to find that they are based out of Fort Collins, CO, just a 45 minute drive from my home in Boulder. Thinking that picking up the tool from their store would be less expensive than having it shipped, I sent them a quick email. Blake replied promptly and told me that they are actually just running the business out of their house, and that I could stop by anytime.

My boyfriend and I drove up to Fort Collins a few days later to meet Anne and Blake and pick up this fork as well as a matching digging spade. Blake and Anne were very warm, welcoming, and extremely enthusiastic. They are clearly committed to finding high-quality gardening tools and making them available to U.S. customers. I wish them the best of luck and hope that they open up a store in Boulder or Denver in the near future!
