The Half Moon (Swan Neck) Hoe by DeWit Tools is an excellent choice for weeding in and around plantings. Featuring a half-moon shaped head of traditional Dutch design, the sharp edges on the Half Moon Hoe are great for cutting weeds just below the surface or turning your soil. 

This swan-neck half moon hoe is is available in your choice of 63" or 74" lengths. Hand-forged from hardened boron steel and fitted with an Ash hardwood handle from FSC Certified forests.

    This halfmoon swan neck hoe was a gift to a family member. He has repeatedly told us how much he loves working with it. HE does not have the back pain he did after weeding his garden! He also likes the material the hoe is forged from. HE is thoroughly impressed with the quality of this product.

    We already had one of these hoes and since we BOTH garden we had to "take turns" with this favored hoe...so...I got online and found it and ordered one for HIS Birthday and now we have HIS and HERS Half Moon Garden Hoes..this hoe is the BEST for getting between and under garden plants with the tiny little edges and then also the BEST for pulling along in between rows to cut off the weeds before they start..It holds a good edge and only has to be filed about once a season depending on how many rocks we are hitting:O)

    As a teenager I worked on a produce farm for several summers and experienced several different types of tools while racking up countless hours of hoeing. This hoe design is the best by far and the one that I now choose for my personal garden. The skinny head shape allows for all types of de-weeding motions, from aggressive pushes and pulls away from the plant, all the way down to surgical tweaks near the plant. The long handle is ideal also.

    I use this hoe daily to weed my vegetable garden. The blade angle reduces hoeing effort and the sharpness make short work of weeds and grass. A good all-round tool for eliminating weeds around your plants and for general hoeing chores in a tilled garden.

    I purchases this hoe and the Sneeboer Pull Garden Hoe at the same time. The Dewit hoe is better for delicate weeding around plants and the Sneeboer hoe is better in heavy dirt. Together they make a great pair.

    I needed something for precision weeding that could also easily clear a good swathe. This does the job. The neck makes it simple to get the blade into tight places. The sharp edge slips neatly below the root crown. The half moon shape improves visibility without sacrificing functionality.
