This is a breakthrough tool for me. It cuts through our hard clay soil with ease. It feels like it will last a long time. If you don't already do it, be sure to set yourself up with proper tool cleaning gear - water or a damp rag for removing soil, a clean drag for drying and some light oil - WD40 or ? and a rag to spread it and work it in. It just takes a minute or two to do this if you have all the materials handy to wherever you store your tools. It would be a great pity to let your new Hori rust itself to an early demise....

This tool has many uses and is always in my gardening bag. As a matter of fact, I like it so much, I bought one for my brother-in-law who is also an avid gardener. You will not be sorry if you add it to your tool collection.

This is a must have for every garden! I use it to weed, plant and saw when necessary. My family had lost my original a few years ago and I've tried several similar tools, nothing works as well as Hori Hori Knife. My favorite garden tool!

My aunt's favorite tool is the Hori Hori Knife Weeder, but hers didn't have a brand name. So I looked online and the one at Garden Tool Co. looked identical to my aunt's. It arrived (quickly) and it is terrific quality, solid and well-balanced. My husband and I fight over it. It is fantastic for weeding and planting as well as turning over small areas of soil. It has measurements on one side so you can see how deeply you are planting stuff. It cuts roots with ease. I recommend it without reservation. Great gift for the gardener who doesn't yet have one.

When I first saw the Hori Hori (H-H) I thought to investigate the details as I had another use for it. The details were excellent and I ordered. Upon receiving the H-H, I knew it was going to do the deed. It's heavy stainless blade, engraved with inches and it's heavy broad wooden handle is my dream of a digging tool for metal detecting recovering detected targets from deep under ground. It is very sharp and heavy to take out the meanest weed/grass growth with ease to extract the target (coin, artifact) which I have for 35 years enjoyed. I have fashioned many 'tools' for this purpose other then using a hunting knife or like item. Each wearing out and dulling. This will last the coming 35 years of enjoyment in metal detecting. Thank you.

This is probably one of the most versatile tool I have for yard & garden work. I use the Hori Hori knife/weeder for digging up weeds, cutting through small roots, opening bags, planting & amending soil. Indispensable!

I use the Hori knife for everything in the garden. Planting bulbs and flowers. Cutting shrub root balls before planting and many other uses. I never go to work in the garden without it.

I love my Hori. It is extremely functional for many purposes, such as digging weeds out, measuring hole depth and cutting back perennials when putting the 'garden to bed' for the winter. I personally suffer from some arthritis in my hands and using garden clippers for an extended period of time can be painful. Using the Hori as a cutting tool at base of plant has been very helpful. Friends had raved about its merits ... I'm glad I finally purchased mine.

It is indispensable. I only wish it could be fastened comfortably to my hip since I use it all the time---in so many ways! It is a knife, a trowel, a shaper of earth, a spade....I think the list is much longer than that!
The fact that it has a serrated edge makes it over the top wonderful! You can cut through iris, daylily clumps, rout out stubborn weeds, cut down into soil...
I could go on and on but I want to get back to the garden and dig some more with my harihari knife weeder!
