Sneeboer Tools chooses wood specifically for its straightness and tight wood grain for their D-Handle Ladies Spade. The shape of the handle is the only difference in this spade and like the T-handle model you'll find it a joy to use whether digging, soil aerating, transplanting or planting perennials and shrubs. Absolutely beautiful and well-made

This spade is a real delight--both in appearance and in working ability. It feels great in my hands and cuts through tough sod and hard soil with no problem. It is built to last, which is important to me since I do a lot of garden work for other folks and I want well-made tooks that stand up to heavy use.

I just purchased a bunch of Sneeboer products from here and they look beautiful. They're truly a piece of art and every bit what I expected! I've only used this shovel to dig a hole to transplant an ornamental grass I divided.
It worked great and I especially liked the feel of the D-handle. Also, all of the tools had beautifully sharpened edges. Obviously, these tools are a luxury, but you will not be disappointed! I plan to get many many years out of these tools and will enjoy using them.
