The only reason I do not give this product 5 stars is its price, which is about 2x other similar shears of similar quality. I bought them anyway. Read on to find out why.
Maintenance is needed with this product. They are made of high quality steel much of which is unfinished. Owners will need to clean and oil for off-season storage as corrosion prevention. Periodic sharpening is also a must for optimum performance. Most casual owners/users will find annually is more than enough.
These shears are large and robust enough to use while wearing leather work gloves, a must when working with thorny shrubs or brambles.
What sets the B&B shears apart are their angled cutting blades, a feature I could not find in any competitive product. This feature makes their use surprisingly easy compared to competitive straight models. Given the amount of time I spend pruning brambles and other berry producing bushes, the extra comfort justified the purchase price for me. I highly recommend these to any gardener who spends a half hour or more at a time pruning shrubbery. These are the best product of this type that money can buy.

The topiary shears were exactly what I needed to keep the juniper pom pons looking good here in Iowa. They are high quality and should last forever. Made in Britain, no doubt because of the intense gardening interests in that country.
