Garden Digging Fork by Burgon and Ball

$ 95.00
Description

This classic  garden fork is extremely strong and has been tested to a breaking strain of 220 lbs – that’s 82% stronger than the British standard.

The handle of this fork is slightly longer than most forks, for reduced back strain. The FSC certified Ash handle has a comfortable 'Y' grip and is attached to the base via an extra-long, double-riveted strapped socket that introduces strength and an element of flex at this key joint.

The stainless steel tines are highly resistant to rust, and slide easily through the soil. The tines are rolled, for outstanding strength and resistance to bending.

Our stainless steel digging fork is endorsed by the Royal Horticultural Society, perhaps the highest accolade in the gardening world. Like all our RHS-endorsed stainless steel tools, this digging fork comes with a lifetime guarantee against manufacturer's defects.

Digging Fork Size:

  • Length:  43.5 inches
  • Blade:  7 x 11 inches
  • Approx. Weight:  4 lbs 5 oz

Extremely well made

My only issue with it is the angle of the tines to the handle. I use a fork to till the soil by pushing the tines in, lifting the soil and turning it over, then hitting the clumps with the edge of the fork. This fork works perfectly for the first two stages, but is clumsy for the third because of the angle of the tines. If this maker ever makes a model with straighter tines, that would be perfect.

Excellent fork, excellent service

The garden fork is my main weeding tool. I was trying to replace another brand of English fork that I faithfully loved, but it was out of stock everywhere I looked online in the u.s. So, I researched and decided on Burgon and Ball. I love this fork! It is so worth the money. It is high quality and very strong. The stainless steel tines smoothly enter the soil and muddy soil doesn't stick to as much. AND it's pretty. It makes my work a lot easier. I am so glad I bought it from Garden Tool Company. It was shipped either the same day or the next day that I ordered it. They appreciated my business and let me know they would attend to me if there were any problems, which there weren't.

Very high quality tool

This is a great tool and I'm sure it will last me a long time. The only thing I would tell others to consider is that, this has a relatively short handle. I am 6'2'' so for me to use this for turning compost isn't ideal because I have to bend over pretty far. It's better for my wife or as a backup, but I find for my needs I'm still using one with a longer handle. The tool itself though is super nice and high quality.

Definitely the best garden fork I've owned. I'm not a craftsman, but it appears to be well built. Made of wood and steel, it feels quite solid and sturdy in the hands. I would guess that if I don't abuse it - by using it for the wrong jobs - it will last a very long time.
