Buy This !!!

This is the most awesome spade you will ever own! The blade design cuts through all manner of obstructions that might deflect a common shovel or spade blade. Completely worth it!!

Get roots in tight places

The Sneeboer garden transplanting spade has met my exceptions and more. I had been looking for a narrow stout shovel that can work close to plants I wanted to keep removing unwanted plants with their roots. The only thing big box stores and garden centers had to offer were something like a trenching spade that was still too wide and stubborn roots would glance off the blade. This spade is compact, stout and the v-shaped end worked effectively to remove unwanted plants with most of their roots without disturbing the plants I wanted to keep. For example, the squirrels in my area love burring nuts in the beds of my bushes preparing for winter. Before you know it saplings are growing where I did not want them that you cannot easily pull out by hand. What I did not want is for the sapling breaking off near the surface to only return later stronger than before from a mature root. This spade can reach far enough to remove the root deep in the ground so that it is less likely to come back. Going forward, this spade will always be in my landscaping/gardening tool box.

Repeat purchase

I have a collection of Sneeboer tools for use in my garden and I am very pleased. Those of my children who are living with difficult soils have received gifts of the transplanting spade, the stone spade and the edging knife. I highly recommend all of these.

Sneeboer transplanting spade

I bought the Hori Hori knife and the Sneeboer diamond hoe. Wonderful tools! However the Sneeboer transplanting spade has proved to be an expensive disappointment. Other reviewers have raved about it but in my garden it can handle only the smallest, shallow rooted plants.
