This border garden spade is slightly smaller than the digging spade, making it ideal for digging in confined spades, or for gardeners who prefer to work with a shorter, lighter-weight tool. This spade has been tested to a breaking strain of 200 lbs; far above and beyond the British standard of 120 lbs.
The mirror-polished stainless steel head on this border spade gives rust resistance and clean movement through the soil. Wide comfort treads at the top of the blade prevent any discomfort for feet, allowing you to really dig deep, in even the most challenging soil.
The FSC certified Ash handle has a comfortable 'Y' grip and is attached to the base via an extra-long, double-riveted strapped socket that introduces strength and an element of flex at this key joint.
Like all the Royal Horticultural Society-endorsed stainless steel tools, this border spade comes with a lifetime guarantee against manufacturer's defects.
